Brainstorming Education adopts a blended learning model that hybrids both face-to-face classroom teaching and online lessons that are tailor-made to cater to the schedules of different students. For the face-to-face lessons, we have well-equipped classroom settings, various teaching resources, and advanced ICT techniques to facilitate the presentation and explanation of fundamental mathematics concepts. We emphasise learners’ hands-on abilities and encourage students to work on manual tasks to consolidate their understanding. In our online lessons, we have designed various online teaching materials and activities such as e-copy worksheets, PowerPoint slides, pictures, stories, games, and videos. The online teaching model not only allows teachers to present the teaching content in an engaging way but also motivates students to exploit their prior knowledge, life experience, and imagination to learn the lessons. It also enables teachers to receive instant feedback from the students and provides them with timely scaffolding and personalised support and encouragement.

Brainstorming Education adopts differentiated instruction strategies during the teaching process. Our experienced teachers will adjust the teaching pace for different students according to their learning progress so that every student can acquire knowledge effectively. We adopt small-class and one-to-one teaching modes to ensure that every student can have adequate interaction with the teacher and obtain more personalised feedback. The exercises in each lesson follow a “from simple to complex” progression, allowing students to build confidence step-by-step as they learn. In addition, these exercises, especially the more challenging ones, are designed with useful tips provided as scaffolding for students to think and work on. Our teachers will guide students to deconstruct the difficult problems into easier steps, solve them one by one, and then encourage students to attempt similar questions individually. Vygotsky’s theory of Zone of Proximal Development suggests that even relatively low achievers can gradually learn mathematics and lay a solid knowledge foundation for their future study.
